Drake's first doctors appointment....

Drake's profile
Kera is still a girl!!
Drake is still a boy!!
So today, we had to take Drake to the specialist to check on his kidneys. We had another level two ultrasound. Drake is so handsome! I really can't wait to see him in person. His kidneys were normal. There was fluid in his bladder which told the specialist that his kidneys were working. The tissue around his kidneys looked good too. They said that they will still keep looking, because you get ultrasounds a lot with twins anyways. They looked at both of the babies hearts, and they are beautiful, and those aren't my biased opinions, those are the words from the doctor and the tech :). They also checked for markers of down syndrome, they both have the bone in the nose and the fifth digit has three bones, if it only had two, that would be a marker of downs. They checked for spinabifida, their spines are perfect. They measured their arm bones, and their leg bones, perfect. Their brains, are perfect. They did a measurement of Drake's foot :) It's already an inch long! He has perfect little feet! I can't wait to kiss them! They checked the sex of the babies again, definitely a boy and a girl! :) I will have another level 2 ultrasound in four weeks to check the heart again. They didn't see anything wrong with the heart today, but they always take a detailed look at the heart at 24 weeks. Oh and they said that the placentas are both in a good location, and both of the umbilical cords look fabulous! The doctor said Dane and I make pretty babies :D! He did give us some bad news. I have to lower my sweet and carb intake, because if I don't, I will have a high possibility of developing gestational diabetes. I'll do anything for these babies, although the cookies are giving me an evil eye. Well we got some more pictures, I'll post them. A few in this post and a few in another one.

And the genders are....
So yesterday, on Jan 24th 2008 Dane and I went to get our level two ultrasound! The night before I couldn't sleep at all. I was so nervous! I got about four hours of sleep. I woke up and Dane was snoring! Gurr, it made me mad, all I wanted to do was sleep! Finally the alarm went off at 7:30am, and we got up and got ready and headed for the hospital for our doctors appointment! We went into the ultrasound room, and she began with Baby A! She took lots of pictures of the heart, which had four chambers, the brain, the kidneys, the bladder, the stomach. Everything was great with Baby A. Then she got to the goods. She said "Baby A is 100% NO DOUBT a girl"!!! I was so excited. I looked at Dane, and he didn't seem too excited :). I am sure he was, he said he was worried about Baby B, and also he was worried that there were two girls". Dane had guessed this since 11wks when we got the ultrasound where we seen little babies. He knew Baby A was a girl and Baby B was a boy... it's weird that he has better motherly instincts then I do. The tech went to Baby B, took pictures of the same things. Then got to the goods... and said "And daddy was right... do you see that thing sticking up".... :) So we have Baby A- A girl- Named Kera Jeanne Schilling (K-Ken) (era-Era) (Jeanne-my moms middle name). And Baby B Drake Kohen Schilling... no significance, other than DKS for Dane's family tradition! But he's not named after anyone. They both weigh 10 oz!! And They are both measuring right on schedule, actually a day later :) So they are growing strong and healthy. I think they like the chocolate I eat! Oh and the mexican food! Well after the ultrasound we had a follow up with my OBGYN. She told us that she is going to send us to a specialist because our son Drake has dilated kidneys. She didn't know much about it. So I was kind of freaking out. And it kind of put a damper on our celebration that we were having one of each. When we got home, Dane googled it, and we found out it's not life threatening, and that if it's a severe case, Drake will have to have antibiotics and a minor surgery. So thank god for that. I'll know more about this on Tuesday, Jan 29th when I see the specialist. At least we get to see our babies again, because we get another ultrasound. I just wish it wasn't for something wrong with our son. Dane says " It's funny, we are taking Drake to his first doctors appointment". What a goofball! :) Oh by the way, Dane was super excited when he found out Baby B was a boy!! But before our follow-up with the doctor he knew something was wrong... I swear he has more mommy instincts then me!
Anyways... I am really glad that we have one of each, that way we can give Danes parents a grand-daughter, that they don't have yet. And I can give my family a Grand-son that they don't have already. :) Plus I really wanted a girl... I need to buy those cute little outfits with the ruffles on the butt, and I have to buy barbies, and baby dolls! But I am so happy we have a son too, because I am excited about playing catch with him, and taking him and his sister to Astro games!
My children are so adorable... I'll post pictures of the ultrasounds in another post... because it's going to take up more than one :)
Oh and I've been feeling movement. Now I know what it is... it's Kera kicking Drake in his stomach!!! My poor baby boy!!!

Procrastinator Here...
Okay, You caught me. I've been procrastinating BIG time updating this blog. So this topic will cover everything that I can remember since the last time I posted which for those who aren't counting, has been 8 weeks! It's not just this blog site either, it's my baby journals as well. What's wrong with me... I need to get in gear here!
Well... let's start off with the dreaded world of morning sickness. It has stuck around since 5wks 6days pregnant. It hasn't gone anywhere. It was hitting me 5-7 days a week, up until about two weeks ago, and now it's 3-5 times a week. It's getting better, but still existing. I can't wait until I say it's non-existent. I know, I know, I wanted it in the beginning, but who am I kidding? I didn't know that it would of been that bad! YUK!
We had another Ultrasound ** I'll post pics later, they aren't on the computer I am currently using**. We had it at 11wks 1day Pregnant. Dane and I went in there, worried about the vanishing twin syndrome, and we were praying that there would be two, but knew we would be blessed if we had at least one! She put the wand on my belly, and right away we seen two BIG babies... or they looked big, and they looked like humans as well!!! She started off with baby A, who was measuring 11wks 2days. We heard the heartbeat 167BPM!!! We saw it move a little (it's lazy like the two of us :) ) . Baby A has my nose (so far) ... it's weird how it's measuring bigger then Baby B, because Baby A looks so skinny. She went to Baby B, and it was going CRAZY!!! It was doing somersaults and flips everywhere.... (our wild child). We also heard it's heartbeat which was 172BPM!!! Baby B, has the profile of Dane. Or so I think. Every time I look at Dane, I think of Baby B! Baby B has the cutest little nose ever (like Dane), and it was just so chubby!!! Which is weird because it measured only 11wks 0Days.
We had another doctor visit, December 28th. We got to hear the heartbeats. I don't know exactly which baby was which, since it wasn't an ultrasound, and I don't know if they moved and what not. But, one of heartbeats was in the 120's and the other in the 140's! Our next visit January 24th we will have another U/S!!! THE BIG ONE ;) I think we are having one of each, or at least I hope :) I would be happy with two boys or two girls, but I would really really be happy with one of each, just in case this is where we want to stop (although Dane says NO WAY -he wants 4 - crazy guy) we'll have one of each. We'll see... what is in store for us in a few weeks. I can't wait.
My belly... wow!!!!!!!!!!! It's HUGE! Or at least I feel like I am huge. Dane tells me I grow everyday... which makes me feel even bigger, but at least he's telling me the truth. I've been taking weekly pictures of my belly since the last one I posted, I'll post them in another topic... with just pictures (including the ultrasound pics from 11wks 1day). I feel like a hippo, and I feel like I am getting bigger and bigger every day. I guess it's okay since I am carrying two babies. Hmmmm...
Movement, well... I felt a little Thump...thump...thump (pause) thump..thump..thump... (pause) thump at 14wks 6days! :( Nothing since. I can't wait until that KICK :) I might not think that when it happens... but right now I don't feel pregnant (minus the growing belly and puking every day)... I just want to feel the life I am growing inside my body ya know? It will come soon enough I am sure. Before long they will be kicking and punching each other... Ouch, I wonder how that's going to feel, and I wonder if one of them will come out with a black eye?
Oh and Dane is the cutest DADDY ever!!! He kisses my belly, reads them stories, and talks to them. We bought a cheap prenatal listener (right now all you can hear is static, and the grumblings of my stomach) all he wants to do is listen to our babies. He's going to be an amazing father. He gets teary eyed sometimes just talking to me about how excited he is!!! AWwww... it makes me want to cry (happy) right now. I am glad that I have him in my life, and I am glad that he's my husband, and I am so happy that he's the father of my children! OK I am getting in the mushy mood again now... Seriously... he's truly amazing!
As for right now, I am in my second trimester! Woo hoo... I am 16wks 4days Pregnant, well actually ... 16wks 5days pregnant (it's 4:16am) Insomnia while pregnant is lovely! So I am almost 17 weeks :) Yay!!!
I think that's all the news I have for now. I promise I'll try not to procrastinate anymore.
