And the genders are....

So yesterday, on Jan 24th 2008 Dane and I went to get our level two ultrasound! The night before I couldn't sleep at all. I was so nervous! I got about four hours of sleep. I woke up and Dane was snoring! Gurr, it made me mad, all I wanted to do was sleep! Finally the alarm went off at 7:30am, and we got up and got ready and headed for the hospital for our doctors appointment! We went into the ultrasound room, and she began with Baby A! She took lots of pictures of the heart, which had four chambers, the brain, the kidneys, the bladder, the stomach. Everything was great with Baby A. Then she got to the goods. She said "Baby A is 100% NO DOUBT a girl"!!! I was so excited. I looked at Dane, and he didn't seem too excited :). I am sure he was, he said he was worried about Baby B, and also he was worried that there were two girls". Dane had guessed this since 11wks when we got the ultrasound where we seen little babies. He knew Baby A was a girl and Baby B was a boy... it's weird that he has better motherly instincts then I do. The tech went to Baby B, took pictures of the same things. Then got to the goods... and said "And daddy was right... do you see that thing sticking up".... :) So we have Baby A- A girl- Named Kera Jeanne Schilling (K-Ken) (era-Era) (Jeanne-my moms middle name). And Baby B Drake Kohen Schilling... no significance, other than DKS for Dane's family tradition! But he's not named after anyone. They both weigh 10 oz!! And They are both measuring right on schedule, actually a day later :) So they are growing strong and healthy. I think they like the chocolate I eat! Oh and the mexican food! Well after the ultrasound we had a follow up with my OBGYN. She told us that she is going to send us to a specialist because our son Drake has dilated kidneys. She didn't know much about it. So I was kind of freaking out. And it kind of put a damper on our celebration that we were having one of each. When we got home, Dane googled it, and we found out it's not life threatening, and that if it's a severe case, Drake will have to have antibiotics and a minor surgery. So thank god for that. I'll know more about this on Tuesday, Jan 29th when I see the specialist. At least we get to see our babies again, because we get another ultrasound. I just wish it wasn't for something wrong with our son. Dane says " It's funny, we are taking Drake to his first doctors appointment". What a goofball! :) Oh by the way, Dane was super excited when he found out Baby B was a boy!! But before our follow-up with the doctor he knew something was wrong... I swear he has more mommy instincts then me!

Anyways... I am really glad that we have one of each, that way we can give Danes parents a grand-daughter, that they don't have yet. And I can give my family a Grand-son that they don't have already. :) Plus I really wanted a girl... I need to buy those cute little outfits with the ruffles on the butt, and I have to buy barbies, and baby dolls! But I am so happy we have a son too, because I am excited about playing catch with him, and taking him and his sister to Astro games!
My children are so adorable... I'll post pictures of the ultrasounds in another post... because it's going to take up more than one :)

Oh and I've been feeling movement. Now I know what it is... it's Kera kicking Drake in his stomach!!! My poor baby boy!!!

That's so funny, my favorite things to eat were chocolate and mexican food...I went to Casa Ole after every single appointment I had, I made it my little traditional reward to myself for all the work of carrying two babies. :)

Also, our family was in the same situation, my side had no grand-daughters and his had no grand-sons, so everyone was thrilled!

Your shower is going to be SO fun, too, I can't wait!!
